Bus A/C Condensers
The condenser rejects the heat your system pulls out of the cabin. On buses it's usually a rooftop or skirt-mounted coil taking constant road debris, so fin damage and leaks at the tube ends are routine failures. We carry direct-fit condenser coils for Trans/Air, MCC, and Kysor/Bergstrom rooftop and remote-mount systems.
Frequently asked questions
My A/C works at highway speed but not at idle. Is that the condenser?
Often, yes — either a dirty/damaged condenser coil or a failed condenser fan motor. At speed, ram air does the fan's job; at idle it can't. Check fan operation and coil cleanliness before condemning the compressor.
Can I repair a leaking condenser?
A tube-end leak can sometimes be brazed, but a coil that has taken fin damage across its face is done. Given the labor to open a rooftop unit, most fleets replace the coil.
