Not blowing cold

Compressor won't engage

Cools at road speed, not at idle
Ram air is doing the condenser fan's job. Check the condenser fan motor, its relay, and coil cleanliness — see step 6 of the diagnostic guide. Likely parts: condenser fan motor, condenser coil.
Evaporator icing up
Low airflow or low charge. Fix airflow first — filter, blower, wheel. See the FAQ on the Evaporators category.
Works in the morning, quits in the afternoon
Marginal charge losing capacity as ambient rises, or a worn clutch air gap that can't pull in hot. Both are covered across Guide 1 and Guide 2.
